Software Engineer

Job Description Skills/Languages: • Typescript • Amazon Web Service configuration based on sound principles of security, performance, scalability and economic value • Javascript • ReactJS if you do any front end work. The main focus of this position is the server-side though. We are looking for an experienced software engineer who is able to operate independently in Amazon Web Services, and who can demonstrate experience designing and executing complex software projects. You will join a team of 5 developers who have created a successful internet marketplace from scratch, that launched in April 2023. The company is a fintech specialized in litigation finance, and its 3-sided marketplace is the first of its kind. What we are building: • The internet marketplace at https://claimangel.com, for browsers, mostly on phones for one side of the marketplace, desktop-heavy for another, a mix for the third. • A native app. • Dashboards and tools for our business parters to make and manage their investments. • Tools for lawyers. Stack: • AWS serverless lambdas in TypeScript • ReactJS • TailwindUI • ReactNative • DynamoDB • AppSync/GraphQL • Kinesis • OpenSearch • Cognito • Snowflake None of the developers so far live in the same town, so we do not gather in an office, instead relying on video conferencing, chat, github, Vercel, Linear, and Figma. However, we are all within 1 and 2 hours' time zone from each other, depending on the time of year: US Eastern time, and an hour or two east of there. We can go a little longitudinally wider than that for the right person, but we have a strong preference for geographical location in the central or eastern part of the Americas, so we can get the most out of our collaboration every day.
